A surprisingly tasty microwave meal

Hi guys,

I just had to share this recipe with you guys as it cost next to nothing (just used up food I already had) and it was surprisingly tasty!

Basically, I'm trying to cut down on my grocery bill so have been trying to use up some of the bots in my fridge and at the back of my cupboards. This afternoon I decided to use a couple of peppers to make stuffed peppers, however I forgot to get the mince out of the freezer so I turned to google for different ideas.

I stumbled across this recipe which I've adjusted slightly. I don't like olives or pesto so I didn't use these, and instead of goats cheese I used grated cheddar. I also only used 2 peppers and a packet of Sainsbury's own brand golden vegetable rice, but followed all of the instructions in the link.

When I got the finished product out of the microwave I was a bit sceptical as it doesn't look that appetising and the peppers had wilted but decided to give it a go anyway, and I have to say, I was positively…

I'm a brilliant gardener.... NOT

Hey guys,

So with the nicer weather I have decided to try and make my garden - loosely said, into a much nicer place to relax in.

To start with it has no grass 😢 it is basically just a plot of concrete with a beautiful (sarcasm) metal fence around it. But alas in the summer it gets plenty of sun all day long so countless hours have been spent chilling with a book and a nice cold drink.

Here are some pictures of what I was starting with....

As you can see, the sun catches it all but it's not exactly the nicest view...

First port of call was shopping last week when I picked up some plants and seeds for £1 each (bargain at home bargains) and some little planting pots and troughs.

Second call was a nice sunny day outside to get these planted and looking nice. A few hours later and this little part of my garden was looking so much better, and do you know what... I felt rather impressed with myself.

A nice start I think... 2 yellow roses (one each side of the troughs) both £1 each. Stra…

Freebie hunting galore

Hey there guys!

Long time no speak I know, and for that I can only apologise as life has been pretty darn busy since my last post (2014! Eeeek)

So... I'm now a full time worker as a supervisor at a local department store - which I have to admit, is pretty amazing and I feel like a proper grown up now!!

Anyhow, I've always been one to look for freebies and ways to save the pennies, after all they do look after the pounds right! Because of this I've started following quite a few people and pages on Instagram who seem to be amazing at finding all the best deals as soon as they hit down. Currently I post any freebies and things on find on my personal instagram account - 'hcoe92' if you fancy a follow ;) but I'm thinking of starting a new account specifically dedicated to freebies and offers, hopefully by the end of this post I'll have a name for it and be able to let you know!

For my first post on this subject I thought I'd share with you some websites that…

Sweet Treats For You

Hey there guys, long time no type I know but I am now back, albeit for a different type of blog...
As a family we have decided to set up a little sweet business going round weddings, school fêtes and parties setting up a little sweet bar, as well as also selling small gifts such as sweet trees and themed items. This is basically a bit of a feeder to get our name out there and see if people think this is a good idea and ultimately if you would be willing to pay for such things.
So far we have catered for a couple of different occasions and made a few prototypes;

This was the first ever sweet bar we did - every guest gets as many sweets as they want to fill their own cups, at least 20 different varieties.

This is our Father's Day mug complete with full size chocolate bars, a 'No 1 Dad' medallion and a selection of Heroes - contents can be suited to individual wants.

This is our large sweet tree - uses over 8 full bags (200 Eclairs) with matching ribbon, again different swe…

Relocation Relocation Relocation

Now I know I've stolen the name of a quite awesome TV program here but unfortunately it is true to the needs of this post, you see I've decided that this blog has become a bit neglected and I've kinda lost track with it to be honest.

At first I wanted to create a beauty blog - then realised I didn't talk about beauty enough, then I wanted it to be a lifestyle blog - and then I realised that I just didn't talk enough at all. I think I was trying too hard and it ended up being more of a chore than a hobby for me and I took this out on my page.

Instead of just trying again on here I have decided to make a clean slate over on Wordpress basically because I have a lot more editing choices using my phone for Wordpress than Blogger offers meaning I can hopefully still do the bits of blogging I enjoy without stressing myself out about what posts look like.

So the new web address is 'A Day In The Life' and being straight with you, it has no purpose, it won't alwa…

Eating Out

Due to recent circumstances at the sisters house - where I stay when I'm working I am having to eat out a lot. This being the fact that she decided to rip her kitchen out because they're having a new one fitted in the next couple of weeks so there is now very little ways of cooking left.
I have tried to keep away from fast food like McDonald's and such which unfortunately has resulted in either microwave meals, not eating or getting something cooked to work or bakers.
Today however I really fancied a home cooked or atleast properly cooked meal so have ventured to the local morrisons to get myself a chicken tikka curry with a side of onion rings and a mocha. This might not sound much but I'm currently sat at the table and really can't wait for it to arrive!!
I shall hopefully have it in front of me soon because the meals I've had from here in the past have been really nice so let's just say the standards are high ;)
And I can definately say it li…

Quotivation #7 - Recently Repinned

My blog seems to have been rather unloved lately and my page views had dwindled to a maximum of 5 a day. Now this has never been many more but it was still a bit of a 😞 moment for me...
So I thought why not reintroduce an old favourite, I think shared between me and you guys; my quotivation page. However this time I have decided to use pins from my Pinterest account and feature those that have been recently Repinned as surely that shows they're good right?
Here goes then;

This is something I keep trying to tell myself lately - applying for jobs and the one that I've got the furthest with was the  one that I applied for because I really liked the job regardless of the fact that I didn't think I would even be given a second look!

I think this is one that everyone can relate to, if things are going well don't dwell on ot but instead embrace it! If you have the chance to do something or have something you've always wanted then embrace it with open arms. This one actual…
